Sunshine's Annual Plant Sale - 3/7/20

Janet Adams reports on our upcoming Spring Plant Sale

"It's only 8 weeks away and we ALL have so much to do!! This weekend the little seedlings will be moving into their larger homes. If you can help mix soil/fill pots come on Sunday morning. We'll get as much done as we can and finish at a later date if it's not completed on Sunday.

Publicity:

Still looking for help with publicity. Needed is someone willing to spend some time online getting in touch with neighborhood organizations, garden clubs, and anyone else you can think of to let Austin know about our plant sale.

What everyone can do:

Clean up your plots. We have lots of visitors that day and want to look our best. Tell your friends and neighbors about the sale. Share on facebook or all those other things. Come to the work days to get everything ready.

So far:

We have delivered seeds to Gabriel Valley where they are growing our tomatoes, peppers, eggplants and tomatillos. Volunteers at Sunshine have planted the herb seeds and are nursing them along as they grow. You are welcome to view the seedlings from the door but please Do not visit inside. That's only for those volunteers watering. We are trying to limit exposure to pests.

Passalongs:

Some of you have started to get your donations of plants ready for the pass-alongs. There is some soil near the gate and pots inside the Weatherport you are welcome to use. Please keep those plants at home until closer to the sale. We cannot protect your transplants from the weather nor care for them.

Email or talk to me if you have questions. There will be a volunteer sign up available in a few weeks. The plant lists are at the website for you to peruse and talk about to your garden friends."
